…and that’s why I don’t have one of those smart tvs! In my house we do it old style and the only data harvesting is done by my computer, phone and alexa.
…and your car. And your printer. And your washing machine. And every damn thing anyone sells nowadays :/
(Not specifically your stuff… just a generalized point)
Wait so even a roku and fire stick? So there’s really no avoiding the smart TV conundrum besides buying a screen, or keeping an old TV.
Pihole and block lists could block the traffic
For PiHole, I recommend Google TV (fka android tv) over most others simply because you can specify static IP settings, including PiHole as DNS. This is useful for those that cannot set the PiHole as their default DNS on DHCP due to some conflict or another.
You can easily set a DoH profile on Apple TV as well.
we are already ahead of the curve
Wait so even a roku and fire stick?
The devices that were harvesting your data before smart tvs were even a thing? Yes, those too.
