I like this picture of a cat that shows up every time this repo is linked. Good things are to come when this cat appears on my feed.

Wayland is essentially finally done, all the time and effort spent on the great transition will be remembered.

Now we move forward, past what x11 could ever do, and onto greatness. It only took like 17 years.

edit: I guess there’s still accessibility work to be done, though.

      Seems imminent https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wayland/wayland-protocols/-/merge_requests/14

Basically waiting on some implementations to get ready to merge if I’m reading it right.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word “Linux” in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
