First Nations people would like to disagree with you there bud. Canada still occupies unceded native land, regularly does raids on First Nations sovereign territory, and has been running concentration camps for kids in form of residential schools into late 80s. Canada is one of the most deplorable apartheid regimes in the world today.
First Nations people would like to disagree with you there bud.
We have been making great strides to not only reconcile the horrible things our government did to our first nations people, but to also go beyond that and to actually recognize and celebrate the importance of our first nations.
A far cry from how Qatar treats regular people. But keep trying.
No we have not been making any great strides in any tangible reconciliation. Liberals have been making great strides in convincing the feeble minded that there’s any reconciliation happening.

The ones run by Christian churches? Horrible. Every Canadian agrees, and the Canadian Government has been doing everything they can to make up for it.
There’s no denying that Canada, like pretty much every nation ever, has some bad history.
But unlike a country like Qatar, who makes human rights violations part of their law, Canada is making efforts to not only bring those atrocities to light, but to support the victims and people affected.
Canadian law enforcement literally commits crimes against indigenous people, and wiped a lot of their existence.
Is this being done because a law says they should, like Qatar’s anti-LGBT, any-woman, anti-freedom of expression laws?
Or are these the actions of bad cops?
Canadians don’t actually want our police officers to hurt people, which is why we protest when anything like that happens. A protest in Qatar would get you jailed or worse, even if it’s only on social media.
Canada paid tribute to a former SS Nazi with Zelensky a month or two ago.
Do you know anything about this story, or just the headlines? Something tells me that you don’t read past headlines.
AnYtHiNg eLsE?
Nah, I’m tired of rebutting poorly cherry-picked examples of things that have nothing to do with Qatar (the actual subject of the OP’s article). But you’re free to hate on Canada as much as you like (we don’t jail people for having an opinion 🤗).
Yes, on paper. But a bad cop shouldn’t be representative of all Canadian law enforcement.
Is there a LAW, as with Qatar, that explicitly criminalizes first nations people for being first nation? If not, stop grasping at straws.
Something tells me you are a fucking liar 😇about the SS Nazi🎉🔥 tribute Canada parliament paid. It was celebrated and glorified.
Ay, you really didn’t read beyond the headlines. It’s all there, bud. No need for me to “lie” about anything.
You do not jail, but you censor and kill people
Examples, please.
Did you forget how Canada kidnapped and house arrested the daughter of Huawei’s CEO for a whole year, because your country’s dog leash owner USA told your country to?
Why cherry-pick one wildly complex and prolonged criminal investigation involving three major superpowers and corruptions among Chinese corporations as an example that Canada violates human rights as a matter of law?
Do you have any actual examples of Canadian laws that violate human rights?
that weasels around like libertarians/liberals to gaslight others into thinking they are deluded.
On the contrary, you made some incredibly misinformed statements, which needed to be corrected. I’d expect the same if I posted something that wasn’t true or misunderstood.
At the end of the day, I’m not the one trying to defend or minimize Qatar’s long-standing, horrific human rights violations (even to this very day).
Ironic, considering the complete lack of humanity in Qatar.
imagine being a Canadian and bleating about human rights abuses in Qatar while this shit is happening in Canada 🤡
Hey, nobody said that Canada is perfect. But at least we don’t murder migrant workers, we give women rights, and don’t jail people for being gay.
Canada also doesn’t make abuse and inhumane treatment of people part of the law, so if these things happen, we seek change to remedy it. 🤭

Great way to let us know that you’re a racist.

I hope you warmed up before stretching this far
I hope that one day you bother to actually learned what Canada does to the native population.
