I have had quite a few MRIs over several decades (knee bullshit), and every single time I have gone in, the staff is crystal clear about the fact that you do not bring in anything metallic, full stop, no exceptions, because it can potentially kill you if it gets pulled forcefully in the wrong direction.
Anyone working at an MRI facility who ignores the rules around magnetic objects is going to definitely destroy equipment and perhaps maim or kill people, and is thus a lawsuit waiting to happen.
