The developer of Hellblade 2 has explained why it prefers making shorter games, insisting digital distribution has opened the door “to games of all shapes and sizes.”
That’s valid. Such games should definitely exist. But too many games get unnecessary padding and slapped-on mechanics because “that’s what the market wants”, or what have you.
I love great long games. I want to be sucked into the game and enjoy it for as long as possible.
