My last boss was labeled “THE FINAL BOSS” in my contacts. When she’d call, I felt sheer disappointment and dread when Sephiroth’s theme, “One-Winged Angel” started playing.
No because I don’t put my bosses number or coworkers in my phone.
I had to in my case. I worked for a company that was contracted out and had an on site boss. So instead of something like management calling me from the work phone, it was always the boss that did it from her personal cell.
Yes, and The Wilhelm Scream (has an audio example)
The Imperial March for the in-laws. (Years ago, we’re good now)
my 6 months old nephew wailing scream. Once I left the phone on my desk and walked to the copier. The phone started wailing. My desk buddy knew what that scream meant, and brought me the phone, thus filling the whole office with baby screams.
I use Morse code spelling out SOS as my alert for “oh shit”.
I blocked them
Boss like boss fight? My phone plays “Once upon a time in the west - Man with a harmonica” whenever my ex wife calls. Thankfully, this doesn’t happen too often anymore.
Final Fantasy VII battle theme for all calls received through my work-profile.
Not for a boss, but my girlfriend’s is probably appropriate. “Gloom Despair and Agony on Me” from Hee Haw.
That was a fun watch, lol! I should find one to set for my girlfriend. I had it set to the Daria theme song a long time ago. It’s one of her favorite shows and she has a dry and jaded sense of humor to match it.
The Jaws theme.
I have a good one. Someone I work with once recorded his boss saying “if I cold fire you I would” later on down the line that someone became his boss and set his ringtone as that part of the conversation. There’s nothing he can say to HR without getting himself in much worse trouble. Funny enough the dickhead one is my boss but the funny one is closer to the team.
My employer is in my blocklist. One of the assistant managers started calling me late Friday afternoon to remind me to come back to work on Monday. I informed her I don’t need to be reminded of such things. She called again the following week. I’m surprised she hasn’t used her personal number to circumvent the block.
I thought about this a few times at my last job, but unfortunately the job was solo work and if no one showed up, the whole contract would have been rescinded. My boss certainly abused my sense of responsibility, though.
Toccata and Fugue
Back when I was on call, I had the bridge number set to this tune from Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs. It fit the mood I was in when answering, especially when it was 3 in the morning.
My Boss had the wandering witch theme from Left 4 Dead 2.
My roommate had the opening chords of the Imperial March, not because she was problematic, but she only called me (as opposed to SMS or chat) when there was bad news or a crisis. She approved.
