minus-squarewes@lemmy.worldMlinkfedilinkarrow-up4·19 hours agoKind of a weak fine if you compare it to Verstappen’s 50.000 fine for touching a rear wing a couple of years ago.
minus-squareMicrow@lemm.eelinkfedilinkarrow-up1·14 hours agoPeople have received up to 1 minute penalties for similar starting infringements back in the 90ies… so yeah it is weak
minus-squareitsame@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·18 hours agoAbsolutely. LeClerc was fined €5000 (+€5000 suspended) for using profanity outside the track. Profanities are now more severely punished than illegally driving on a track while stewards and a driver are walking around. Yesterday a team provisionally earned €30,000,000. A fine of €50,000 is a joke when compared to rewards like that. If touching a competitor’s car provides information that makes you win races, it is absolutely worth it.
