  • Oh, there are so many kinds!

If you have a PC, why don’t you check out some free-to-play games on Stream? Or even a couple demos to see what you may like. I wouldn’t go straight into getting major equipment until you know a little more about what you like.

My grandma has been playing video games since before I was born. Her tastes have changed as she’s gotten older, but there’s absolutely something for everyone.

If you’re 100% a beginner, I may even go a step back to some flash games. Just to get used to moving around (if not using a controller) and some of the more common UI. There’s also a interesting series on YouTube called “gaming for non gamers” about a man and his wife who is trying out different genres. He goes over some things she misses just because she’s not used to it since some mechanics they just assume you know these days.

And be easy in yourself! A new hobby always has some rough points. There will be bad games, matches, complete wastes of time. But there will be some truly remarks gems in there. Good luck!

  • Depressed.

I haven’t gone on walks for a bit because I just cannot stand seeing those fucking signs. My mom and grandma are in a tizzy, and my mom is just as forlorn. She doesn’t even want to vote anymore.

And I’m so, so, so angry. I’m not saying Harris would be the second coming, but that anyone would pick a fascist over anyone is infuriating. The area I live in is not bougie, these signs were sometimes outside houses that have seen better days. And they doomed us all for at least the next four years. I’m so distrustful of my neighbors not that we were close to begin with. I want to ask them why, I want to scream at them, I want to question them.

I feel helpless. All my life I believed that there was some thread of decency that connected us, a thread of common sense. But there’s none. And that’s really upsetting.

  • Honestly, where I live now.

I rent a bare-bones townhouse. Two rooms, and a basement with an old washer and dryer, and a small garage.

I have always lived in apartments, sometimes with fewer rooms than people. Having an entire place of my own (that’s not a studio apartment) is sometimes unbelievable to me. A washer and dryer downstairs? No quarters? I don’t have to look for a spot, I have a garage? I don’t have to cram my entire life in one room, I have an “office!?” This will likely be the closest to “home owner” I’ll get and it still feels unreal after almost two years here. It’s certainly not going into anyone’s Pinterest board, and there are issues, but I always feel “bougie” when I open the garage 🤣

    • Brussel Sprouts: I tried them in a salad and fell in love with them instantly. Now they’re included in every roast. They have to be fresh, because the frozen ones can just be mushy. And those little, crispy, flavorful leaves that fall off are just 🤌🏾
    • Tomatoes: I won’t just bite into one, but I’ve been making them more prominent in my dishes. I mostly stick to the sundried variety, haven’t been able to eat them raw.
    • Mushrooms: I love them so much I don’t understand why I hated them.
    • Some Cheese: I general, I still would say I don’t like cheese, but I’ve become more forgiving of mozerella, which was unheard of when I was a child. It’s the only cheese that broke through.

Still don’t like bacon though 🤷🏿‍♀️
