I paid for AMdroid because I can set profiles, Geo fence, have math problems to turn off alarms, fade in music, turn on my flashlight… All the bells and whistles. I would love a FOSS version, but many try to be single feature. I like all the things.

I was using briefcase in 2001 or so. You probably could have used it with a zip drive or superdisk before that. But
I hated floppies. I lost so much data on them. They were very unreliable. I actually lost an internship because a floppy failed when I was trying to use it. Rather than blaming the person who was stupid enough to rely on a floppy as the SOLE location of that info, they blamed me. It held AutoCAD drawings that were going in and out of a machine shop. I’m still bitter.
I used this all the time with a portable drive in college. I could work on my personal computer (not a laptop), then finish working in the school computer lab and print stuff out.

It’s interesting. Some seriously fragmented genre names. Not sure I agree with many of them, but I always like new music discovery tools.
I can’t stand those books. Anderson’s writing is like a 5th grade report. Tell them what you are going to say. Say it. Tell them what you told them.
He may need a recap of what each character is thinking and feeling every 3 or 4 chapters, I don’t.
Plus Frank would let the world be background for the story. All ‘world building’ is only in focus when interacting with the story and characters. World building for its own sake seems masturbatory to me.
We used to use the term in the mid 90s to describe the kids hanging out in Berkeley begging for cigarette money, then getting picked up in Mercs to get driven home in the hills. They were usually white kids with dreads.
They were dumbass kids. I’m sure the current batch are dumasses too I was never a fan, but in the scheme of things, there is a lot worse out there.

In college we had a spot we would go to, sold Chinese and donuts, so that’s what we called it. Actually pretty good Chinese and they would Stuff the Togo clamshell absolutely full. I also got at a minimum two meals, usually 3, though the 3rd was just based on the fried rice, just add an egg and whatever other leftovers I could scrounge up.
I have a Zone Vibe 100 headset and I like it. I don’t use the mic so I can’t speak to that, but it seems pretty solid to me.
I got a 250 gallon tank. I don’t have it hooked up to my grill, I just use the 5 gallon tanks for that. It’s more of a pita to hard plumb that than it’s worth, plus if I forget to turn the grill off I’m out 5 gallons, if I hard plumbed it to my main tank…
