Out of curiosity, since I switched from Windows to Mint recently so I’m not married to it just yet - what would be your recommended distro for Windows users that uses a better/newer tech stack? Mint worked out of the box for me, but if love to try other distros too if they’re better.
That’s too bad, because the 1% that most politicians listen to and/or take bribes from is very strongly for it, so, ya know…
Yet another childish tantrum? Wow, is it another day ending with “y” already? How time flies…
Do it you pathetic spoiled manchild, stop flapping your gums and actually bloody do it.
Riiiight. And, pray tell Adobe, why in the everloving fuck woul you ever need to “review” private content that’s not posted anywhere? Stop acting like you’re the goddamned pre-crime agency from Minority Report and keep your dirty paws off stuff people are creating privately.
You are providing tools, and that’s it. I can do horrible, illegal shit with my drill, but it doesn’t give Black&Decker any right to break into my house to do random checks and see if I’m drilling through kneecaps instead of wooden planks…

Eating out of stress or boredom instead of when I’m actually hungry. I am getting better, but still, sometimes work pisses me off so much it’s back to angrily stuffing whatever food I have on hand into my gaping maw…
Classic late stage capitalism, where humans’ sole reason for existence is being advertised to. Soon we’ll start putting ads in incubators too, and invalidate this Onion article: https://www.theonion.com/17-days-in-incubator-longest-time-premature-baby-will-g-1851456014
Right? So much better it’s not even funny. It was recommended to me here on Lemmy a while ago, and I couldn’t be happier. Sometimes instances get clogged or go down, but it still beats any other search I tried by a mile.
I do that too, but I use “rich fucks” - also works!
SearXNG - it’s a meta-engine that serves results from a combination of other ones (you can set up which ones you want to use). I like it a lot. Here’s a list of public instances: https://searx.space/
If teachers could brainwash kids to the point of changing their sexual orientation, wouldn’t all schoolchildren become well-read, polite and clean well before they turn trans or gay?
Oh, “It’s almost entirely blind to almost all consumers”? That’s almost fine then!
Do shareholders mix with anything? Fucking up the environment? Makes shareholders happy. Mass layoffs? Makes shareholders happy. War, cancer sticks, genocide, addictive drugs? As long as the line goes up shareholders are happy…
To jail, for the rest of his life, yes. Not that I’m holding my breath for it though - the international community has demonstrated time and again that genocide is compmetely fine, as long as it’s happening far away and not to “our people”.
I got it on Game Pass and wanted to give it a try, but when I sat down on the couch, controller in hand, and tried to run it, it asked me to take my phone out and scan a code to create yet another worthless account somewhere. It wouldn’t allow me to even start the game otherwise.
It made me actually say “are you fucking kidding me!?” out loud and uninstall immediately. Screw that - I will not eat at a restaurant that makes me scan a code to see the menu, and I will definitely not play a game that does it either…
Rant over, but that experience annoyed me so much that no update or improvement will make me want to install it again.
Going to sleep. Every night we lie down, close our eyes and fake sleeping until we actually make it and fall asleep for real.
Same! It was actually a pretty big surprise that Mint worked flawlessly out of the box on my crappy pre-built PC. Everything’s working great including the printer! I’m seriously impressed.
A safety can opener that doesn’t create any sharp edges, like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_mLxyIXpSY (a LONG video, but quite an interesting one IMHO).
It’s nor even funny how much this thing is better than any other opener I’ve ever used, it’s just so bloody amazing!
Not really, because I normally don’t even look at or register usernames unless I emphatically agree or disagree with a post. I’ve been doing this for years, first on forums, then on reddit and now here. I don’t want to be biased against the content of the message just because I like or dislike a particular poster, so I mostly ignore usernames altogether.
