Definitely a good reminder!
Definitely a good reminder!
Pretty much the same as before the election. Life moves on.
I don’t think so, I had to go in and do the song and dance with changing a config file. Reposting this comment here for posterity.
.kobo/KoboReader.sqlite
(if you are already signed in)..kobo/Kobo/Koboreader.config

.Not without significant hurdles due to Amazon’s (very intentionally crafted) walled garden. You’re locked in by the file format as well as Amazon’s DRM. If you do anything to bypass this, it’s technically illegal as a violation of the DMCA.
My last eReader purchase was the Kobo Clara 2E and it’s fantastic. I got one for my dad as well. I love the fact that you can use it completely offline and without any account.
Then they announced a partnership with IFixIt, and that cemented for me (barring any changes), that my next eReader will also be another Kobo… though with this partnership I expect that to be a long time down the road.
Only options available to me on the work computer are Chrome and Edge. FWIW, I use Edge, but still I understand the choice between the two.
Such a great show. Exactly what you want in a Star Wars show, somewhat realistic, down to (earth), gritty.
Loved this show.
Good point, I forgot about that news
I mean they’re just resellers of the big guys’ network. I think Mint is a reseller of T-Mobile. Verizon has its own branded reseller labels. It all goes through the big guys’ network anyways so could they even claim that?
Kmufasa, the K is silent like in knife
Haha I’m not stupid I know the IRS doesn’t accept gift cards.
The Microsoft tech support guys have been very helpful with my Linux laptop though, and I feel that I can trust them.
I mean I’ve definitely seen signs at checkout lines at grocery stores. I’ve also been asked when buying large amounts of gift cards what my reason for buying them was (in a very kind way, I would add).
LAGER would give the same information but also have a shot at being correct
LARGE was an absolutely terrible guess if you already know that R can’t be in the third spot
Interestingly, this coating can cause issues for some products like the Apple AirTags. I know this because I used one of these batteries with a bitterest in the AirTag on my keys and the AirTag didn’t work.
Funny, I actually started out with them disabled but I re-enabled them in the past year since I’m terrible at mistyping.
I wish there were a way for only the app to know which sites you’ve visited previously so it could do a better job of helping my typos without exposing that data to websites you visit.
Edit: oh I also wish you could have the address bar on the bottom :/
I forgot to mention a fringe benefit of Firefox Focus: I feel like it forces me to do a better job of not just opening a webpage and telling myself I’ll read it later (I never do). Since the session is ephemeral and the webpage will be gone if I don’t read it right away, I actually get down to reading the articles more often.
This may also be a side effect of Lemmy, though, since there’s less content here than on reddit.
I like Firefox Focus.
Every time you close the app (swipe up on the app switcher) or use the trash button it cleans every bit of cached or stored data including cookies, so every time you open it you have a fresh browsing session and it’s harder to be followed around the web.
Obviously inconvenient for banking or the like, so I also have Firefox (regular) installed which stores my login sessions.
Huge news
Is it possible to get biometrics working on a flathub app?
I tried to cross post it here: https://lemmy.world/post/22093917
Not sure if I did it correctly, though
