If you like Zorin and want to support it then just do it. Don’t let other people tell you to switch, more people should contribute.

I’m pretty sure there a lot of worse stuff that’s happened in the past 100 years, you just know how that ended.
They barely even have ties. They only started trying to improve things just before it all kicked off.
I know but it’s cheap.
OneDrive works pretty well on Linux actually. Takes a few lines of config and there’s no GUI but it’ll sync a folder nicely and run as a service.
I know everyone always says Nestlé in threads like this but what are they still doing? What damage would you save by getting rid of them?
I think the seller themselves write the review. They basically create a fake account with someone’s details in order to generate a legitimate sale so they can leave a review. They sacrifice some of their products to get the reviews up.
I thought this was fake.
Lemmy isn’t a whole lot better. There’s still stuff you have to block straight away.
Well three popes have died since 2005.
Everyone keeps complaining about smart TVs. I’ve got a Samsung and it gives me no bother. The only thing I don’t like is that when you turn it on, if you don’t do anything, it automatically switches to the last thing you were watching which often means my daughter might end up putting on some horror channel or whatever we were watching the night before after she went to bed.
I think we’re moaning over nothing again here.
There’s already alternatives, why not just let them take over? Trump complained about the US giving up DNS, now he’s complaining about CVE. He wants to control everything but doesn’t want to pay for it.
Apparently exports to the US accounts for 2% of China’s GDP.
People keep comparing AI to the likes of NFTs, the blockchain, and 3D printers. All of those were over-promised niche products but AI has already proven its worth.
They were all about what they could do, but AI is already doing it.
99% chance this’ll become free before too long. Nobody will pay for it.
I just installed openSUSE last night and I was thinking at the time about how crappy and dated the installer is. I mean, it does the job if you know what you’re doing but it certainly doesn’t even try to make it easy for anyone non-techie.
I’m not really a fan of Calamares, I think the whole concept of booting into an OS and then using it to install another OS is a bit weird and could confuse people.
I don’t think it’s ever going to happen without corporate backing. Maybe community run efforts can afford to have a few volunteers do some coding in their spare time, but volunteers don’t generally want to work on the boring stuff like the polish that users expect nowadays, and they’re never going to be able to run things like R&D, focus groups, etc, to get ahead of Fortune 500 companies. All they can do is see what works and copy, that’s basically all the community developed stuff has ever done.
Look at ChromeOS, it’s already got more users than Linux. If the Year of Linux ever happens it’ll look more like the Year of Chrome
I’m not going to use this myself but I don’t know why everyone’s complaining about it so much. It requires opt-in, it does all the processing locally, and if someone nefarious gets to the point they can read this stuff then they’ll already be able to record your screen, log keystrokes, etc. I expect it won’t be straightforward to view the data as well, it’s not just gonna be a folder full of jpegs.
I’m glad that people are actually trying to make interesting features still. OSs have been so boring years now, it’s good to see people actually trying to introduce standout features even if they are controversial. More of this I say.
I’m not against some political stuff but there’s so many circlejerk opinion pieces that get posted. It’s just a bunch of people posting stuff that confirms their own beliefs, which is no better than what happens on the likes of Xitter. It’s just a different kind of echo chamber but people are okay with it because it’s left rather than right.
