Did you know that in Factorio’s ‘seablock’ modpack, it is absolutely viable to power your base with BEANS?
I may not have felt the touch of a woman in YEARS but even I am not autistic enough to play this game.
vanilla factorio is for autists, yes. But this is modded factorio, which is infinitely worse.
So, wait… cold beans in the tank, then game session for awhile, then take a break and have a properly cooked snack?
On the Internet, where no one can hear you fart…
You sure about that?
I’ve seen videos of how to fry an egg on a CPU. Meeting you can do bacon on a GPU?
That must have been either a very small egg or a very large CPU.
Epyc Egg
Is there something wrong with me? I think about how this can be done safely for the PC… Inf my thoughts go directly to 3 d printed beans and red brown coloured water cooling liquid…
Sounds like you might have a mild-to-severe case of autism, but don’t worry, that’s at least half of Lemmy if not more.
5/7 100%, bean there, done that!
A perfect score!
Needs to seat at least 20. Next!
You bet.
Cool Beans.
BEANS ARE BACK ON THE MENU!!
Boys.
Beans
Probably able to carry away more heat than water. I want to say the Soviets tried this with a submarine but the Royal navy kept stealing the sub for breakfast.
The hunt for red onion.
cool beans out of 5
I see beans but no jeans. Come on lemmy, do the thing.
I don’t think jeans offer the necessary cooling properties for this particular application.
Make a framework case and stretch dennim over it. Attach fans to distressed sections.
Ayy, that could work.
Full beans. IYKYK.
This lemming eating beans
Ten out of beans.
Twelve out of beans with rice.
Perfect for Lemmy. Plus 2 to dank checks.
Using an nvidia card, not optimal for Linux, Lemmy disapproves!
Aside from the fact that the best drivers are closed source, NVIDIA is killing it on Linux these days.
Source: me a professional Linux user and hobbyist Linux gamer.
I’ve not tried myself but whenever I see anyone complaining about issues here the responses are generally “ah that’s what you get with nvidia”
If distros would ship pre-compiled, signed kernel modules that work with secure boot with no extra configuration, that would be just perfect.
No, that should absolutely be discouraged. Nvidia should quit trying to fuck with users’ rights and release proper Free Software drivers.
It sounds to me like a loose-loose situation. It does have the effect of applying pressure on Nvidia, but it also makes Linux desktop more complicated than it needs to be which has a real cost for users.
It’s a shame.
