No worries, just wanted to be sure. 🙂

Really varies on where you go and who you talk to. It’s not a universal thing.
For the company or the workers? For the company to die on rto mandates, fully agree.
Good luck! Everything will work out eventually.
Yeah I was looking at it and was thinking the article writer is grossly misunderstanding the device. It looks like it’d be a fantastic item for their use case and it’s highly impressive that some high schoolers did that. But it’s not exactly a design that will take over for home and enterprise switching.
Because neither of those are forced imperialist occupations.
Too little too late, I’m not getting any more versions of windows.
A people and it’s government are two different things. And frequently the government does not give accurate representation of its people’s desires.
But let’s say the USA, because I assume that’s what you are insinuating by westerners, is 100x more evil than all other countries combined. Does that mean the Russian government isn’t bad? Nope. Truth doesn’t change based on the moral character of another separate unrelated entity. Even if that entity is worse and even if that worse entity is the one saying the truth.
Do you realistically think anyone gives a fuck about hacking through a copier pc? What are you going to get from it?
Media is a bigger target. But even considering that, obtaining those things is so damn easy anyways, no one is hacking that kind of place to get media. Maybe to just cripple the business.
You know how you can end up with crusties in your eyes in the morning? Well that gunk comes partly from your tear ducts and drys there. So sometimes when I blow them out I get some light white mucus as well as tears. When it’s really full it will make tiny bubbles. Lol and it whistles a little so people in the same room can hear it.
Also as a party gag. Lol
I can blow air out of my tear duct. Really useful for clearing it out.
Ffs, what has he done worthy of death. Hateful fucking assholes.
This has been my struggle. I read the documentation before posting to linux groups. And even saying that you just get “wHaT r U sToOpId!? rTfM aGaIn!” Like just rereading it will magically reveal terms that I didn’t understand the first 3 times. I gave up on trying to switch to linux.
I think my last straw was I was talking about establishing an SFTP server in OpenBSD (I know, unix not linux, don’t bother; same kinds of people in both) and I had a typo in my question and it was a very benign unimportant typo and some pedantic fuckwad had a mental fucking breakdown because he was now confused if I really wanted SFTP or FTP and how FTP was insecure blah blah…the whole thread was about setting up SFTP wtf would you think that changed in the middle because I forgot the S on SFTP in the middle of a discussion on setting up SFTP. Too many pedantics in the community and even when I like software I don’t want to be associated/involved with that level of unempathetic autistic assholery.
Common sense is to lock your doors at night or when not home, and don’t take candy from strangers. It does not extend to nuanced and intricate discussions such as this. Sense needs to be applied but to insinuate that it is intuitive to the degree of common sense is a poor stance in this discussion.
Almost every job I had prior to realizing I need a work life balance.
But not at odds with running a corporate environment.
I mean to really change whether third parties work in the US we need systemic changes and regulations to the voting structure because getting a populist movement stateside is nigh impossible. The only reason to vote for someone that doesn’t represent you halfway is to hopefully prevent the person who doesn’t represent you at all from getting in.
We would really need changes to how voting is done on a regulation level to see the viability of federal 3rd parties. Some States do ranked choice which has really boosted 3rd party viability. I’d like to see that or something similar to it on a federal level.
It’s less a vote for Trump and more a lack of a vote for the party that can realistically defeat him. I wish 3rd parties were a viable federal election option. But they aren’t yet to a point where they can realistically win in the US.
So the sentiment that not voting, or voting for a guaranteed loss is a vote for the worse of the two parties with a chance to win isn’t entirely without merit, it’s just poorly phrased. It means that if you fail to vote for the person that can win over the worse candidate, you have given the worse candidate a better opportunity to win.
DDOS against a little self hosted instance isn’t really a concern I’d have. I’d be more concerned with the scraping of private information, ransomware, password compromises, things of that nature. If you keep your edge devices on the latest security patches and you are cognizant on what you are exposing and how, you’ll be fine.
