Yes I know the options are terrible and I am aware if alternative ISPs but my apartment management only offers just one ISP. It is not Verizon or any other big name, just some not so well known company with a site design from the 90s in every bad way.

Google is big enough to house it all, whereas, we’d probably see content from a creator last for a finite amount of time before they end up having to close up shop or beg for donations.

VPNs are not required. Instead of egressing on your ISPs network, you’re egressing on someone else’s network. It’s kinda like paying for a second ISP so you can egress your ISP to go encrypted to your other ISP. What does it accomplish other than putting you in another law jurisdiction?

Okay, so the two examples you’ve provided about those VPN services, have nothing to do at all about piracy. One is about cyberstalking and the other was about a child abuse investigation. Those are arguably more serious than piracy in comparison.
At that point do you think you’ll get some form of compensation from the VPN provider?

We would be back to the 2000s where the world was cautiously allied with the U.S during the Bush years. Like, the world depends on the U.S for a lot of things and to lose it’s support, ally and everything to dictatorship would be detrimental. I think it’s mostly because of how rapid the internet was at becoming more accessible. It was inevitable as to how big it’d become.
And the opinion then changed from that to “The internet never forgets” which was more in the mid-2000s and early 2010s. This is 50/50 because it really depends. Some sites shut down for good, so if there was anything or anyone on it, then we can safely say the internet forgot. But that opinion mostly applies to whenever someone becomes a lolcow or someone who generally does something so stupid online that it’s everywhere. Hence the internet communities not forgetting.

I watch maybe 2-10 videos a day. Lengths between 2 minutes to a couple videos clocking an hour. I do not watch anything beyond 1 and a half hours unless it is a movie and that video is interesting enough.
I sometimes have audio streaming for background noise when sleeping but audio streaming is practically chump change so it is no factor.
Game downloading averages 100MB to 4GB at most with bigger games rarely ever being a thing.
