Everytime I checked downvotes on anyone’s posts, they came from .world. And the instances referenced were here before .world, since the admins are the ones who, checks notes, created Lemmy.
LMAO, if you’re going to be a Tankie/Tankie apologist at least pay attention. The meme isn’t about the Tankie Triad, it’s about 3 just a few days old instances. Which you would know if you’d bother to follow the context link and put in some effort.
I’d say about 70% of my comments have exactly 1 or 2 downvotes. Just the other day I said “lmao, nice” on a post about the IRS open-sourcing tax software and it got a downvote.
That’s likely what’s at work with these things. I even got a few chronic haters that downvote just about everything I write, even when it’s calling out racism. They’ll downvote criticism of Nazis in the effort, even.

I’ve seen admins claim a handful of users/ipaddresses are responsible for 90% of all downvotes and it was not World.
Although, World is a very active and popular instance for being vanilla but also defederating from Hex and Grad.
